The Story Behind the Painting
Some paintings begin with a grand idea. This one began with a cup of coffee.
A friend of mine has a mountain cabin where the birds have grown wonderfully comfortable around people. The mountain chickadees are fearless, happily landing on outstretched hands, hats, and, one morning, my coffee mug as they searched for a sunflower seed. Meanwhile, the Steller's jays watched from nearby, always ready to swoop in and chase everyone else away, though they rarely showed the same quiet confidence as the little chickadees.
The moment lasted only a few seconds, but it captured everything I love about mornings in the mountains: fresh coffee, curious wildlife, and the simple joy of slowing down long enough to notice it. I painted Chickadee Coffee because it felt like one of those small moments worth keeping around, whether in a cozy cabin, a breakfast nook, or your favorite place to enjoy a cup of coffee.

Original Paintings
If your original painting arrives damaged, please contact me within 7 days of delivery with photos of the damage so we can arrange a repair or refund. Because each original is one of a kind, returns for reasons other than damage are generally not accepted.
Fine Art Prints
Each fine art print is made to order specifically for you. For that reason, returns or exchanges cannot be accepted for changes of mind or incorrect size selections. If your print arrives damaged or with a printing defect, please contact me within 7 days of delivery, and I’ll work with my print partner, FinerWorks, to replace it at no additional cost.

Original Paintings
Original paintings should be displayed indoors and kept out of prolonged direct sunlight or areas with excessive humidity. To remove dust, gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Avoid using water or cleaning products.
Fine Art Prints
For the longest life, display prints out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from excessive humidity. If framing, I recommend using UV-protected glass or acrylic and acid-free archival materials to help preserve the print for generations.
